Why is Al Running?

Al Cowan is seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican in Texas District 11 against incumbent Mike Conaway.

Al is running because he is concerned that things in the United States going in the wrong direction and wants to get our Country back on track.

Al believes that the current Republican members of Congress share responsibility with Democrats for the current situation that the Country is in. Replacing incumbents is necessary to make any real improvement.

Al supports establishing Term Limits, limiting Members of Congress to serve no more than 6 years which is three terms and pledges that to the voters of District 11.

Al believes that a Representative of Congress should vote the same way as the majority opinion of his or her constituents.

Al is committed to greater fiscal discipline including reduced Federal government spending and elimination of earmark pork.

Al supports greater limits on contributions from lobbyists, PACs and special interests to improve the responsiveness of members of Congress to their constituents.
